 Re: Bushes
My only worry is that the tension rod pack did not come with any crush tubes and my exsisting ones are cracked and broken.
I rang Bursons and they said not to worry to much as the factory rubber ones needed the crush tube as they flexed considerably - polyurethane ones do not and are MUCH stiffer ( i can hardly push them down!) But if the exisisting tubes can be used they advised me to use them.

What you guys reckon, it wouldn't matter that much as not to use them would it? I trial fitted them and they dont move around on the tension rod shaft too much so its not worrying me too much, just good to get some other input.

Cheers
Dave

 Re: Bushes
When you say tension rod, I assume you are talking about the radius rod (runs from front of chassis to the lower conrol arm) otherwise known as a castor rod.

If this is the case, I would not be using them without the inner tube, they are there for a reason. The fact that the guys at Bursons even suggested you use them if you could says it all....... Also, The bushes would be rubbing against the threaded section on the radius rod, that can't be good for longevity

I sell the Noltec brand of bushes, and I can tell you that they come with the metal inserts. Use the old ones....they are there for a reason, you should continue to use them.

 Re: Bushes
And yes i am talking about the tension/castor/radius rod - many different names!

I dont see why this pack didnt come with the tubes tho, the trailing (upper and lower) both had them and so does the lower control arm... Why not the tension rod pack?!
Maybe there was a mix up in packaging or they just dont come with them, i aint sure but i will try and use the stuffed tubes....

Another thing, the boots on my ball joints (steering and knuckle arm) are completeley fraed and stuffed (all sticky and can pull them off), can i just use some rubber and replace the boot instead of replacing the whole ball joint?

Im not wanting to fork out $68 a ball joint!

Cheers Datman
Dave

oh and roughly how much are the bushes (if i get them thru you) the ones mentioned above? Noltec brand tho...
