 Re: Dowled A14 Crank the dowel is to stop the flywheel turning on the crank at high rpm exceeding 8000rpm, usually with a stock crank the holes in the flywheel are only clearance holes so there can be movement between the bolts and flywheel.the dowel makes it so the dowel takes up the movement and makes the bolts only hold the flywheel on, and not stop the flywheel moving.
