 Re: My New Injin
I run this same setup in my ute.. But there 45's not 50's....Makes 130 atw with a VERY flat torque curve only onther mods are custom extractors and changed the cam timing..
Has run 13.85 at 98mph on street ruber...

Form those that are wondering clearence in not an issue.... Aside from where you possition your clutch master..
I also run longer trumpets than those supplied and they did interfier with the structurial support on the bonnet...

PS. Make sure you have a good tuner cause the guys that did mine did a #### job, bad idle surges when cruising...

Do those kits use factory sr20 injectors. or do you have buy injectors off efi tech.

Hey, when you say a lash kit do you mean convert to solid lifters or run rocker arm stoppers? Also what cams do you plan on running. I'm pretty interested to see how this all turns out so make sure you do heaps of updates :)

cheers
Nick

 Re: My New Injin
Nick just rocker stoppers at this stage.
Stage 1 I will run completely stock motor apart from throttle bodies, programmable ECU and custom extractors.
I hoping with fingers crossed for 140hp at the wheels but with alot more torque and drivablility out of corners. Thats where I lose most time on the track.
Stage 2 will be working on the head ...porting cams springs etc etc to increase to maye 160rwhp with stock bottom end.
The best you could ever hope out of an injected A15 1600cc would be 125rwhp.
My main advantage will be weight as the coupe should weigh in at 850kg dry.

wicked i'm toying with the idea as well which is why im interested to see how you get on. I would have thought the 50's (Quad Throttle Bodies) would have been to big especially with the std cams. I'll probably go 48's, the tomei sr20de crate engines make 265ps (@ engine) with 48's so thats good enough for me! :)
If you decide to rebuild the bottom end non turbo 300zx pistons will fit with a little bit of modification, and i'm led to believe they give a 11:1 comp with a std combustion chamber and still have big enough valve reliefs to run some pretty decent cams.
Cheers
Nick

 Re: My New Injin
I am thinking of SR power for my little rocket in years to come
Can you do some measurements for me so I can see if it will fit mine
I need the width from centre of head to widest point on both sides of engine... including those pretty T/B's you have there as I was thinking of using those too.
I'd also like to know the legth of the engine and also the length of the box

I think this is the way to go in the future..... as you say in stock form this engine takes up where the old relable A leaves off

The rwd version should have 119kW and 188nM. A bit more grunt- say 125-130 kW and i reckon it would be an almost perfect choice for a daily driver- enough grunt to keep the v8's honest and 8L/100 fuel econ. only real downside is their weight.

looking good Craig. What gearbox are you going to use? What box did you use behind the A? Have you weighed the engine to see what they weigh minus all the crap?

gearbox will be a R32 GTS-T box with an SR20 adaptorbellhousing.
The throttles are from EFI Hardware
EFI Hardware / Speed technology.
