While cleaning out the unit uder my house today >I was moving the racks around and the power lead feel to the ground ,as i got closer to the leads one decided to move away from me ...From what i saw it moved atleast 4-5 foot and disapeared ,not knowing what snake it was ..I had no choice but to get the snake catcher in ,Within 20 mins of them arriving they had this girl under control and posing for a photo .They charged me 75 dollars ......
ONE EXPENSIVE POWERLEAD ...........

A couple of interesting points

A. It is illegal to kill a snake in Australia [unless you are under attack] Yeah yeah, I know. But it is not illegal to run over one by accident. It's just so sad to see them dead on the road. [yeah, right]

B. I'm told that of the ten most venomous snakes in the world, Australia is home to nine of them. That's what i'm told

Its summer hear lads and its snake time ...Yes we have some very poisonous snakes hear ...Some of the more agressive ones will chase you ....So not seeing what it was I was wise ...Pinning it down not a chance or a shovel ....Get an angry brown snake about 6 foot and he will give you and your shovel and stick a good run for its money ...Lucky this snake was a tree python ...Now i know where all my geckos and green tree frogs have gone

Sounds like you tricked them into cleaning out under your house for $75

What really interested me was the color, the photo does no justice....The top half was light blue with a pearl through i ,with a canary yellow bottom and black detail ,and a snake skin finish
True Phunkdoktaspok ,The bloke did roll up the faulty power lead and take it away .
So nobody else would get a shock

Should've remembered the Croc hunter episodes chasing and manhandling snakes on his native turf.

Oz venemous snake chart

Hey, can you not kill funnel-webs unless they attack you first?

You mean hoOp snakes....
Didn't mention them because they aren't in the top 10...
We dont get full on hoop snakes down here. Only thos e wierd looking red and yellowish ones that we call "Coil Snakes". But even then we dont get many of those.
they are alot smaller than the hoop snakes.
I rememebr when I was little and I saw my first coil snake and it freaked me out...saw this thing kinda coiled up and rolling down the hill at me..
I had a friend over from ye olde england two summers ago and I was telling him about coil and hoop snakes...
He didn't believe me...
When we went down to the Cotter River for a bbq he saw about 10 coil snakes in 15 minutes and then wouldn't go any further than 5 metres away from the bbq.
He believed me then.
Yeah, those things are wierd.

That is a good link indeed. I was un aware that Taipans were found in Australia.
Taipan Oxyuranus scuttelatus Does that name mean if you are bitten, your arse feels an intense burning sensation
I have seen the odd Tiger and Red Belly but never under my dattos. Although I have come across a fair size Mudgee Redback under the 1200wags
