What sort of price would you be looking for for one of these and how much to courier to syd?

Will it be sold like that or trimmed with fittings to attach it?

Different colours?

cheers

Ok some more on the dash . speaking to the people who test the dashs today .
Depending on the size of the dash i may beable tomake them out of glass pretty excited actually brings the dash that much closer to beable to put then on the market..
So here's the deal i have to produce 3 dashs all different thickness's and weghts and take them to toowomba to be tested,Out of the three one should pass he said sought of hmm ... but not to worry he said they will advise me on what and where the dash failed so thats a good too.....

Sounds like lots of experimenting has been going on in the factory. Lots of learning about different materials.

A slight change of plane ,today was a good day went to see kev rowley and dropped off a demo dash for people to view ,then took the other dashs to KCF rally sport for examination .I will be finding out on the 31st march if its going to pass or if the dash needs to be refined in anyway. wish me luck lads its been a long haul and a fair bit of cash has been thrown at it to get this far ....cheers geoff

In future when you make a different dash for another vehicle, will you need to test them over again? or will this lot of testing be good enough to know what construction technique to use in the future?

Re: RED fibre glass dash board
once the 1200 dash is passed i will recieve a compliance number for the 1200 dashs for life .and be able to sell them without any worries .what you cant do is put a different dash into your car like a sylvia dash into a 1200 .BIG NO NO .....so yes my magna dash going into my 120y will fail ,you can only replicate the dash thats in the car .I also have to submit a statement on what products im using types of resin and glass. and also three f/glass panels 30cm by 30cm with different thickness for testing .
So yes if i was to make a dash for a 1000 datsun i would have a guide line for it which would save alot stuffin around ............

Good stuff.
Has there ended up being such strict rules, like required testing etc, for the various exterior body panels you will no doubt be making now or in the future?

Re: RED fibre glass dash board
Only the dash has to comply the other parts like door trims and spoilers dont have to be tested as they are add ons ,and your not removing and refitting, and the door trims arent there to strengthen the door so theres no real issue ...........
As for colors i have 20 colors to choose from, as for pricing i will have to wait till it passes the test and come up with some figures ......................

Re: RED fibre glass dash board
so the story continues KCF rallysport have talked to the engineers and had a no as a reply .....the next step was taken today and we went to see a public liability solicitor ,we are in the process of coming up with a product disclaimer people will have to sign and beable to purchase a dash .this will leave the consumer liable for what they do with it .Im sorry for those who may disagree but ive had that many people enquire about them ,most people werent concerned with the legallities as long as they can buy one .thanks to all those who have enquired its keeping me inspired to see this marathon through

I think if people want them - you would be silly not to sell the product.
Unfortunately in todays day and age, we have to cover our own backs. You have done your part with product changes and testing. Ultimately it has come down to a disclaimer. My guess is that further development would put sale cost high enough to make the product unmarketable.

One thing that has to be realise is that the testing would of been required to meet "Todays" standards and an original dash would more than likely fail this testing even before your product.

Re: RED fibre glass dash board
Yes phunkdoktaspok at one stage there i was very concerned about the way cost were going and if it was viable to sell ,the fist mould i made ended up stuffed and chopped up and went to the trash .
Since opening my factory and a shop on ebay the interest has grown 100% ,I hope by the year 2010 80% of australian 1200 datsuns will have at least one of my fibreglass parts fitted to it .cheers geoff

Well good luck with it. You've put a fair bit of work into it and it will be good for everyone if you can get it passed.
