hmmmm looks nice!

from the bolt spacing on the carb hat and the fuel in, I'd say its a downdraught weber.

Interesting that its still running a stock radiator.

That thing on the end of the radiator (between wastegate actuator and turbo) is one of them turbosmart boost controllers isnt it?
Would I need something similar to that on my suck-through turbo with external wastegate?

one more question, what is between the booster and the side of the engine bay? I see the fuel line is coming from there and theres a vacuum? line from the hat back there as well... is that where the fuel pressure reg is or is it something more?

ok well the owner of the yellow coupe has decided, he now wants 2 go CA powered, sooooooooooo i am looking at buying this engine. all for a rather good price of 1000bucks, thats including, turbo setup, a14 engine, fuel pump, intercooler, gearbox and exhaust, i am now facing the massive question of wether 2 turbo the ute or not 2 turbo the ute. i need some advice???? wat do ppl reackon,. tyrie has also tempted me with another interesting trade. another bloke i was talking 2 said 2 ask wether i would need lower compression for running the turbo on my engine???. i would prefer 2 keep the a15 in the ute, and swap the turbo etc onto it. and sell the a14 of after i have got wats needed from it. so ppl start convincing me

Assuming the engine is in good shape, I think you should do it. It will put out more horsepower than the A15, and I doubt you could turbo the A15 for less money unless you did most of the work yourself. The size diff between A14 and A15 is 7% while significant for a naturally aspirated engine is less important for a boosted one -- the turbo can easily make up the difference if you keep the air cool.

agree with DD. just bolt it in and drive it mate, less hassles and as dd said prob will go just as hard as the A15. that way, you dont have to worry about the compression side of things. for 1000 dollars you might aswell drive the turbo A14 and keep the A15 in the shed for parts or for another project.......now thats an idea.

apparently the a14 needs new rings. so i dunno wether it would be wise. its blowing a bit of smoke out of the pipe on the rocker cover????. i would prefer 2 take the most hassle free way. gotta start makin some decisions. wat would i need 2 do engineering wise???, the utes already engineered for the a15 and has front brakes upgraded.
