Looks like a nice setup for an A-series engine.

MSD ignition is used by all the muscle car guys, and many racers. http://www.msdignition.com

The one here (big red box) is not only high-energy, but also multi-spark via CD (capacitance discharge). It can probably work with the standard points distributor, or an electronic distributor, either way.

The coil looks like an "MSD Blaster 3", a high-energy coil. Similar to the 80's Nissan electronic-distributor coils.

The black box is a Crane Cams Fireball XR700 "points replacement" conversion kit, similar to a Pertronix system: http://www.shopcranecams.com
