dd and I flew the 1200 flag, greasemonkey couldn't make it. Mine's the one on the right. Most of those 510's (bluebirds, 1600s, whatever) were on steroids, with V6 lumps, etc. and they drive at about 8/10...I was working pretty hard keeping 'em in sight. A great day out, and dd is a great guy as well. In a week that tower goes BOOM!

Haha the 510s mighta been at 8/10, but judging by four tire squeal I was at about 10/10. My 155 radials just couldn't keep up with wide tires.

If you look real close, toward the bottom of the tower you can see the yellow detonation cords going left to right. The thing was drilled full of holes and looked like it was laced with high explosives already.

It is 499 feet tall (~160 meter), right on the mighty Columbia River. News story here: KATU Channel 2 news story on upcoming May 21 implosion

They showed it on the news this morning.
Very cool.

Aparently that power plant is the inspiration for the one in the The Simpsons.
