 Re: Brakes
hey guys, i havnt posted for a while just wanted to let you now how i was going. I finally got my brakes, its a 300mm disc with twin piston caliper. im running commodore stud pattern all round now as ive got a shortened vs commodore diff in the rear. This should pull the ute up nicely!

 Re: Brakes
EVL-UTE, I've been considering shorting a commodore diff for my 1000. Can you tell me what it cost and what is involved?? I like your idea of going to a different stud pattern to save all the conversion back to the datsun pattern. But what 13" and 14" rims are available for this stud pattern??

I doubt you'd be able to get discs under 13" or 14" rims... Discs are 300mm in diameter remember

 Re: Brakes
qik1000 - When i got my commodore diff done it only cost me 300. That was only to shorten the housing and respline the axles. i ended up rebuilding the diff with a new lsd centre, new gears and seals etc.. it cost me a mint. With the fitting i got it made to the same width as the standard 1200 diff, because im not going to tub it, the leaf springs get in the way of the calliper so i only had to rotate the axle tubes a little so the bottom of the calliper clears the leaf spring. Im not too sure what 13 and 14' rims there are as i have to run a 15' minimum on the front to clear the calliper.

p.s yes it is a stanza strut

 Re: Brakes
Look like a VT disc and an AU2/3 caliper to me

As for 13" wheels...... there were 4 cyl commodores that had 13's but they ran torana stud pattern at 108mm
For small wheels in 120mm commodore pattern look at BMW..... they were the same
Commodore did come with 14" wheels but not much other than steel wheels avail....... who would spend money on alloys and leave them 14" ?
Plenty of 15's avail though
