rte38

Hi,

First of all my apologies if I have not had the time to stop some flaming wars about you.

I have created this comunitie in 1998 for the joy of owning a datsun and my curiosity to share it with other people.
Usualy datsun1200.com is a friendly place where people dont have an agressive behaviour. But your lastest actions in the club led this way.

I hope you understand that this site have a lot of trafic. more that 1500 people visit 1200.com every day producing more that 20000 hits per day.

Thats sums it up completely.
Thats why this site was created by the Branco Bros.
Kinda sad that Pedro had to apologies for not keeping up with the bullcrap other members have thrown at rte38's datsun pics.
Fair enough comment that some pics dont belong. But the bullcrap that is in direct response to some members dislike of rte38's datsun is just that "bullcrap".
If you dont like someones car in anyway what so ever, simply dont comment.

Hopefully rte38 will continue to show pics of his Datsuns.

I agree that not enough praise is given to the Branco Bros. I dont mind Rte38 showing his datsun and datsun related pics, and even a couple of pics of other sutff here and there for off-topic reasons. But he has been asked nicely many times to just be sensible with his Pictures and posts, but still decides to continue repeated pics and non-related pics. But on the other hand memebers are out of line with some of things said (including myself on one occasion).

Lets just get down to Datsun stuff and dont worry about writing silly attacks on people even if they post incoorect stuff. The more attension and posts you give to it the more it will continue.

not to excuse it, but he was instigated

anyway, it's kinda strange that a lot of members (myself included) throw comparable bs on this site not unlike rt38 does, but i guess rt38's bs isn't familiar

To break it down even more, the car is a Valiant Charger, model VH. It is the R/T version with the E38 option engine. This engine is the 265 [so called] Hemi with the triple Webers, & was originally fitted with a three speed stick shift. The E38 was the race model, while the E37 was a slightly detuned street version, but still with triple carbs. Both were street legal.

Later, they produced the E48 & E49 versions & these were the street & track versions again, but with four speed trans [D20 option from memory]
The 265 cube E49 engine was rated at 302 hp right from the factory & gave a lot of V8's with big reputations a very nasty fright.
I'm told that the E48 is the best one for the street as the E49 engine was just too racey. [read that as lumpy, hairy, thirsty, noisy etc.]

Both the E38 & the E49 could also be optioned with two diferent Track Pack options. The long distance version included a large fuel tank that almost completely occupied the trunk/ boot area, & it would cost a kings ransom to fill it from empty today. There was enough boot space left over to fit a small laptop & a sandwich from memory.

So RTE38 is really R/T E38

The prototype engine that was used to test & develop the hemi concept in 1949 was an inline six. Only one test engine was made.
They got it right the first time.

Have a look at the engine in the car. Plugs on one side of the engine & all the ports on the other side. Then think just what it takes to do that with a true hemispherical combustion chamber.
Now I am a great fan of the Chrysler Corp & have been since I was 14, & still am, but to call this engine a hemi, & actually hold a straight face? I would gag on the word.
The only true production Hemi's that they made were V8's.
The six is a truly great engine, but a hemi? Sorry, it never happened.
