Yes, I read about this in Autoweek magazine this month. The current fad in Japan is to put tires on rims that are too wide, it stretches the tire across the rim. Probably not the safest thing to do, but gives it a unique look. Of course when everybody starts doing it now it is no longer unique.

What's with those windshield wipers?
