Re: more of the green and white It got my curiousity up. Here's what I found:Quote: Westwood Plateau is a master-planned community ... [now] one of the most desirable suburban neighbourhoods in the metropolitan area of Vancouver, British Columbia...the site was owned by the Provincial government with a portion leased to a sports car club for use as a racetrack. The Westwood racetrack attracted car enthusiasts to the site from 1956 until the track closed in 1990. http://www.inwest-investments.com/investments/westwood.htmlIt was 15 miles east of Vancouver

Re: more of the green and white You got that right. When first opened, in 1959, Westwood Racetrack was miles from nowhere, you used to have to drive through a gravel pit to get to the track! Who would have ever thought that 30 odd years later it would be overcome by Suburbiaville. Many local racers fought the closing for years but in the end ..... gone. This track had seen many big name racers come through the years and lots of new racers likes Gilles Villenueve, Bobby Rahal, Michael Andretti (who still holds the fastest lap record, and always will now).
