Geez mate not good at all. Good to see you came out of it with reasonably minor injuries.

The roll cage looks a little more crushed than I would like I guess if it was my car, but hey your alright and that the main thing.

are you serious??? that roll cage definatley saved his life! the car has bent in the middle and the wheel was ripped off, so it was no small stack AND the cage has barely moved!

glad to hear you're ok... and looking for another shell to do it all again!!!

Geeees - Sorry to here this has happened to you. Considering the placement of the tree you guys were pretty lucky to get out of it with only those injuries you mention. I hope you can find another good shell and your rebuild goes well.
Good luck and get well soon.

Yeh, its the kind of accident you hope you never have. flying thought the air sideways hitting a tree roof first at ground level. the photos don't do it justice I go out to the shed and still can believe I am here. I have just posted a pic of the inside.

sorry to see the damage but glad you're still walking and ready to do it all again
.........scariest part of rallying ...... trees, don't mix well with speed and skating on loose dirt and stones

Unlucky about the car, lucky for you that you didn't break you'r head...

Might I suuggest an extra bar in the next cage that "triangulates" the point where the front leg joins the main hoop. I f you do it right it wont infringe on access...I had one in my 1600...

Seeing that makes me want to put a roll cage in my daily driver. Compared to new cars these have almost no protection agains side impacts.

Ouch Sorry to hear of the incident - but if you can walk away relatively unscathed then that is the best news you can get !!
Had a look at the cage pic - it certainly did its job!! Your impact was at THE worst point but still retained a lot of integrity. The only thing we do differently in our cages is to run a diagonal bar across the roof to triangulate the cabin roof area. This helps prevent the occupant area becoming a parallelogram in a hit. Your cage was well worth the money !!!!
And to all the wet weather drift specialists ..... telegraph poles are a close relative to forest trees
Cheers

looks like a huge impact! roll cage did a great job. always very nasty when a car headbuts a tree like that, but good to hear the injuries are fairly minor - if somewhat painful. broken collarbones are not much fun.

You could fly over here and drive it back . I'll put some pics up too, I would have taken some interior ones but my camera went wierd on me again Pm me for his phone number
