Car cost me $175

I'd be lying to say the $2k covered rego. But it did cover the things needed to be done to get it Roadworthy and the conversion (yes it is pretty dodgey :P)

Gotta admire anyone who can get an old car on the road for under $5k, particularly with an engine swap. When you take into account Rego at $500, and Engineers report $700 (depending on who does it), plus the cost of the car, the motor and 'box, diff, wiring for the EFI, EFI fuel pump etc...etc.., if you're not doing the majority of the work yourself the costs soon add up.
