I am using the std "Oldsckool" points ignition in conjunction with an aftrmarker EFI system that can do Fuel and ignition.
this particular EFI can be triggered ether by Hall, Magnetic, or CCT-breaking.... (IE. points). and it is working well for me. I guess the only down side to using points is when the engine gets to those screeming 8.5K Rpm ranges and above... it might get bounced.
The points, in my case only gives the ECU a trigger pulse and from there, timing is calculated by the ECU and then passed to a TP100 ignitor, which is responsable for the hard work. the points will theoretically last for ever..
