In 2006, I started an engine swap project. I was in the process of putting a Datsun 1200 engine and a 5-speed from a 210 into a '59 Bugeye Sprite. In 2007 life bitch-slapped me, hard, and the project was stalled. Hell, I could no longer get in and out of the car. Last year a friend of mine re-started the project for me. We fabricated new motor mounts and a new front cross-member, used an install kit for the tranny, got the engine and tranny in, re-did the front suspension, and finally turned it into a roller. The engine was apparently a rebuilt JDM short block, bored 40 over. I found the ancillaries on eBay, and got a head from ddgonzal years ago (thank you number one.) I also got TONS of helpful information from this forum (thank you number two.) Anyway, the car is now on its way to a new home for final assembly and a lot of TLC.
