None of my 1200 indicator switches ever suffered from burnt contacts, even after 40+ years of use ... so a relay is unnecessary
Note that if the contact points are cleaned/filed with a ferrous type sandpaper, they may foul again. TIPS: * use a points file * or a stone * or paper * Make sure there is no oil or grease on the points
I think there is no condenser in the indicator wiring circuit, however the ignition system uses one: at the distributor (normally replace every time the distributor points are replaced)
The only problem i encountered was they would short occasionally, necessitating a removal and reinstallation and replaced of the fuse. This was due to the switch becoming loose. Solution: ensure the switch screw is tight enough. Specifically, these screws
