Re: Fuel injection manifolds

Hey Dimlight,
I took your suggestion and did some reading on general EFI setups. It's a pretty simple system in theory, just a control unit that tells the injectors when to open depending on inputs from various sensors. On the other hand, I think it'd probably be too expensive for me - or at least wouldn't have enough benefit for me to backtrack on my planned SU setup. The parts I came up with is injectors, manifold, fuel pressure regulator, high pressure fuel pump (in tank?) ECU, fuel return lines if necessary depending on the pump, air flow meter and temp gauge, and depending on the ECU possibly oxygen sensor, throttle position sensor, water temp and RMP meter (possibly use stock). But anyway, I'm sure the cost of all of that plus wiring and all of the required plumbing would be well over $1k for new parts anyway, possibly much more. I've already put a few hundred into my SU setup and will be done with it in a few hundred more, so I guess count me out. I thought it might be worth it for the reliability benifits over SU's but here in TX that shouldn't be much of a problem anyway. Just need a working choke setup and I'll be fine.

But on the plus side I learned a little bit about EFI.
