In the US, the Nissan 210 w/A12A engine, circa 1979-1982, competes against the original 1200 in the SCCA GT5 road racing class. I had heard from a 1200 GT5 stalwart that several 210's had been disqualified for using the original 1200 crank in an A12A (gotta use original parts, or billet-made - can't swap parts among engines. Strange world.) My understanding is the A12A guys are upset because to successfully run the same RPM, they have to have a custom crank made, rather than just using the A12 forged crank.
