Yes I did.
I wrote that it would work in your "Datsun-1200" car engine. If i had meant all A series, i would have said so.

This means that if it is included in the list, it will work, if not,... it won't

The engine in the Datsun 1200 has the distributor right up front, over the oil pump, while A series engines from "74 onwards have it located further back, which meant that they needed to add another drive gear on the camshaft to drive it.
Now have a look at the photo again & count how many drive gears are on it.

This is why i never refer to the 1970 to '73 engines as A12's, even though this is stamped as the enginne number prefix. I always refer to them as the Datsun 1200 engines & that way there are no mistakes. The A12 designation, for me, is reserved for the A12 engine from '74 onwards.
