more power out of a 12a N/A? hmm dont think so... 13BT is a diff story.
12A carby would be cheaper to get running. it would also be slower and prob guzzle more juice.
even take the highest output figures from mazda (12A N/A):
130 hp (97 kW) and 115 ft.lbf (156 Nm) in the RX2
or turbo:
165 hp (123 kW)
Compared to the CA18DE: Power: 130hp @ 6400rpm and Torque: 119ft-lbs @ 5200rpm
or CA18DET: Power: 175hp @ 6400rpm Torque: 165ft-lbs @ 4000rpm
Weight will also come into it. I think you can start to see why so many people do ca18det conversions.
