as the others said the diff is not locked. i had a problem with mine a while ago when the engine would cut out when i wasn't giving it any throttle. as long as i kept the revs up a bit it was ok. turned out to b the old style cork gasket in the carby had started to deteriorate and some had went into the carby and caused it to stall
