Oh okay, so the rise affected buyers of China or India? Or both.
The price has changed by up to 60% and after suggesting that I supply the material myself the price only changed by five or six dollars an item so I don't know what on earth is going on.
Thanks for the information, we get steel out of Tropex in NZ and when I asked if there was a price increase I didn't hear of anything. Normally there is an 'issue' with the manufacture process when the price is on the rise, this means they can start selling again once they think it has peaked. Another good indicator for us is how many scrap metal companies there are, normally you see a whole heap of South Africans rock up into town (when the prices start to rise) ready to set up their buying station. It seems they know when it's coming because they arrive months in advance.
