Ok so where has 3 years gone......?
$hit that time has passed fast and since i started this thread il say my ute has had plenty of work done to it and will be a little ripper one day.
A quick rundown of events......I started my own business not long after asking the question "easy ways to paint underside of car" and being a workaholic i spent the next 18 months putting in my time to building houses and getting established under my own business name. During this time i persuaded a family friend to let me rent (boxes of beer and plenty of them) to take my ute to his sheet metal factory for some rust repairs.
Whenever i have no work in construction i go spend my days at the factory tinkering away with my ute. One little thing leads to another and me being me cant settle for anything under the best. I stripped it out and the fabrication began,
-Made my own tunnel
-replaces both floor pans
-replaces about 150mm into the tray and 50mm up the cabin firewall
-tubbed the rear

At this point "rob" was doing a 4 link rear end in his ute and the ideas started as the skill levels got better. I did my research and other than doing IRS i found it to be second to none.....knowing this was going to be the best for handling and getting the HP to the ground, i i must do it.

Next stage
-A frame to carry the front link mounts was made and mounts attatched (this was now getting into precise fabrication and made out of the car to slide in once everything was ready)d
-from this frame i sleeved the original chassis rails with 3mm
-Due to fabrication of my own tunnel i no longer had gear box mounts so these then got fabricated off the chassis rails
-battery carrier was mounted to the frame along with future hanging lugs for exhaust

Now the car was at an important stage i talked the racing car off the hoist and got the ute up there to mount this frame/chassis rails under the big rig.
At this point i filled the factory with crap by sand blasting all the underside and gave it a light coat of etch primer (industrial paint was in the factory so that's what it got). While the boys at the factory thoughts where changing from 'old #OOPS#ty dato resto' to 'a little super car' the interest grown and ideas where flowing.....WATS LINK.....
-Adjustable wats link frame was designed a few time but we got there and that then got made and fitted
- I made a new numberplate hanger as original had been molested at some point
- Once everything was welded and i was happy it got some POR15 sprayed under and stone guard.

The underside looks great! So much work has evolved since the original post but i am one to always make something the best it can be......'job worth doing is a job worth doing right'

Currently i am working on the engine bay and getting ready to sand blast that. The skills i have acquired doing all this has been a great learning curve.
Since finishing the underside i moved onto seat fitment and now the engine bay.
Bit by bit things are getting done and before to long it will be headed for a pannel beaters to get paint.

Thats the update in short lol
