Who has intermittent wipers?

Subject: Who has intermittent wipers?

Do you like the way they work? They are just like the regular ones two positions Slow and High, but with another which is intermittent every six seconds. So instead of off and two stop, it has Off and three stops.

My ute has them, and I like to fit it to my sedan.

Intermittent wipers were an option for the 1200 starting in 1978 April. Then became standard fitment starting October 1981.

So any new utes in the wreckers might be worth checking.

There are three parts:
* 4-position switch (Off, INT, 1, 2)
* AMP module black, about the size of the horn relay but under the dash
* a wiring harness that goes between the amp & the wiper motor

It uses the same wiper motor, so I think a retrofit should be easy. I have an extra AMP module bought today for $2 at the wreckers, and have ordered the switch, we'll see if it is NLA. In the meantime I'll wire up some connectors that make Low intermittent and leave High as normal. It's coming into Rainy season in Seattle for the next nine months.

The only downside is they are not variable intermittent. I wonder if any T/S switch from a newer Datsun (e.g. B310 Sunny) that has a wiper switch would fit on the 1200 column ...
