i built a CA19DET years ago.. JE Pistons 84mm 8.5:1 CR, Crower Rods, Tomei 260 ProCams/Springs/Cam Gears, Turbonetics T3/T04E, Haltech, 550cc injectors, twin walbros... you name it, it had it.. dynoed at 260whp@ 10psi when we tuned it on the dynojet, probably over 340 i reckon at 20psi as I ran it eventually on the road after breaking in.. almost a year later, an injector clip wasnt put back on after fiddling and the engine went caputz when the plug popped out, a piston melted..

looking back on this bring back NICE memories :)

first time i drove it from the shop back to my office

I simply took my stock DET block (that was over 20 years old, never rebuilt, just slapped on the new oil pup i had from the other engine), and put it back in my silvia with all the parts, reduced the timing and ran 14psi and the stock pistons and rods took it, i am guessing this was about 280whp or so..

after my custom turbo mani cracked a few times, i found a greddy one and cut off the turbo flange and welded on a t3 flange and used my T304E as a bottom mount ;)

I never rebuilt the CA19 block and sold the car with all the spares, the guy rebuilt the CA19 and made more power with a different turbo.

I have a CA18 in my 1200 sedan, and will start tweaking it soon once i am done sorting out all the suspension and driveline issues :P Go the CA!!
