Roots is the least efficient type, invented in the 1860s. This is the famous drag racing "blower" like Mad Max. They were typically 55% efficient @ 15 lbs boost. They are very efficient at lower boost levels say 5 lbs boost
Centrifugal blowers like Paxton, Vortech, Powerdyne and Procharger are more efficient heat-wise and power-wise. 74% efficient at 15 psi. Takes less power to drive than a Roots blower. Less heat buildup. The outlaw classes used centrifugal @ 60 lbs boost
