Seems to me you are on right path.

From my experience the mighty a-series is almost bullet proof from the factory.

I did a little experiment with my setup to see just what could be done with a stock A15 motor.

I pulled the original motor from my car ( A15 balanced crank, rods, turbo cam, acl pistons, .8mm head shim) and fitted a stock as a rock A15 from a vanette (unknown kms) fitted my turbo setup, 5 speed, lightened flywheel and monster clutch setup.

It has now covered about 10,000+ km and still runs really strong with no smoke, although I`m only running about 20 psi.

I have been running it on a mix of 50/50 E85 and E10 from united, and have never heard it detonate.

I`m thinking I`m going to stop using the water/meth. setup, as the other weekend I got into a traffic light grand prix and when I shifted into third at full boost the water/meth killed the power. Still blew the terror tree to the weeds but it didn`t smoke the bags like it used to.

I`m pretty impressed with the 50/50 fuel mix and am getting pretty good economy (11LT/100km).

I`m glad to hear that people are still working their dattos hard and so called noobs are getting their boost on.

Go the draw thru as they are so simple and easy to work on, just make sure have a carbon seal fitted to your compressor, and you have plenty of fuel and spark to feed the beast.

Cheers,

G
