Re: CA18 CRANK PULLY

I've also used the 2 pulley version from an EXA but have searched around for a single pulley unit. Ross seem to be the only company that do a harmonic balancer one and your looking at over $600.

Don't bother attempting to have pulleys lathed off an original balancer as due to there construction you will find as soon as the outermost pulley is removed the rest will fall off
the centre harmonic section. Many have tried and many have failed...although I did find someone that was able to weld one back together.

As mentioned...you can buy aftermarket pulleys (although I've never found a 2 pulley EXA type) and I believe these can be machined down as they are made out of a single piece of
alloy. However, these aftermarket units do not incorporate the harmonic section designed to
help minimise crank vibrations. Opinion seems divided as to how beneficial the harmonic balancer is, but my thoughts are that if
Nissan thinks it's worthwhile it probably is.

Good luck and if you happen to find a cheaper brand of harmonic than the Ross unit let me know.
