The L series inlets dont lend themselves well for evenly spaced carbs like these
Some people have done it but if you are after a peppy engine with good economy
the ones in the pic should be fine but I would use the last of the L series based
heads that came after the Z series which are called NA series.
Here someone had one for sale and you can see they come factory standard with
roller rockers and evenly spaced ports. Here in Japan the Nissan 720 guys run them
with the flat slides and webers and they sound awesome and have excellent mid range.
One I saw at a yearly meet made close to 166 hp ate @ 7400rpm and 160lbs of torque but
standard will make 120hp with good headers and induction stock cam etc.
The rocker cover is standard Z series and uses L series ignition.

They take all standard Z series manifolds so can also run Z series injection, headers and
even KA24de turbo manifolds with little effort porting them for clearance
