House films are contructed with a Dry Adhesive, not suitable for shrinking to the curved glass.
Auto films are manufactured with a pressue sensetive film designed to shrink to curved glass on installation.
All films will generally cut out UV rays or 99% +
All films will cut out a portion of IR Radiation. Some better than others.
... and do not just concern yourself with IR rejection. Look at the heat rejection. Energy from the sun comes from Light we see, IR and UV (simply speaking).To get the best heat rejection, you need to cut out light, UV and IR.
Look at Johnson Window Films 'INSULTIR' Film in my opinion. Its 35% has heat rejection of 50% with 73% IR rejection, and the 20% has heat rejection of 54% with 74% IR rejection. Both are 99%+ UV rejection, and a ceramic manufactured film.
