600cc one-cylinder needs 36mm carb
600cc two-cylinder needs 36mm carb
600cc four-cylinder need 36mm carb

See the "carb sizing" info from Weber. Because a four-stroke cylinder only draws once from the carb every four strokes, until you get more than four cylinders the number of carbs not need to increase

This is also why using four carbs doesn't make more HP than one carb. Works fine, just doesn't make more power. But what's that you say? Everyone know dual carbs make more power -- Yes, because of the individual tuned runners, not because of the number of carbs. You can use four runners connected to a plenum with one carb and it works out the same peak HP. Four individual throttle bottles may have slightly better part-throttle response and lower emissions. But certainly not needed for good performance and peak power
