Is that hotspark designed for the distributor? It may be intended to be used on earlier distributor Hitach D40/D41 which was nearly but not quite the same

JDM B211 came with points distributor and 2-tap ballast resistor

3-tap ballast resistor was used by early electronic ignition (e.g Hitach D4F and D6F/280Z)

The middle tap is for the medium current load of the electronic ignition (0.9 ohms, which is too much current for a points distributor). When using Hot-Spark Ignition be sure to use the outer pair of connectors on the resistor as Hot-Spark is not a high energy module. They sell a Hot Spark "high-energy" coil but is just a normal coil (3.4 ohm). But you can use a regular ballast (1.5 ohm) with a regular Datsun coil (1.5 ohm, total 3.0 ohm)
