Theoretically I wonder if its possible to do that to a vq?

by swapping the heads left for the right so inlets face down.
oil feeds on inlet side of the head can be blocked and oil drain
can be done by tapping the back of the heads for rear drainage

1 piece relatively flat billet exhaust manifold for single turbo
from mitsubishi evo with dual inlets.

log style plenums with short angled runners to suit inlet ports
probably billet alloy as well.

Any ideas? or better leave heads as they are and have head work
to reverse in and ex valves then swap cams over each bank etc.

Tapered angled runners from the sides would allow the engine
to be lowered quite deep in the bay but would need custom sump also.
