The great thing about the VQ is that it is common and inexpensive. Junkyard $227 engine that make 235-289 hp -- and now we find out it's lighter than an SR20DET four-cylinder
Here it's in all the Nissan V42 "Quest" minivans (2004-2009) and they sold over 200,000 of those in the US. Recycling yards are full of them
Just use the stock Nissan ECU to run the EFI, spark and CVTC. CVTC is good for 30% hp, without it will make less hp than the SR20DET. Of course if you like to lazy-shift (below 3000 rpm) then it won't come into play anyways
But how do you hook it up to a RWD transmission?
