I would forget using 185 on 6.5- 175 are better. They end up less squishy and clear most small datsuns. TOYO made in Japan cost a little more but last way better than yokohama and available in 50 / 55 series 14. Hooned on them daily and at Calder they shined. My datsun 1000 I had to flare/lip my guards but easily cleared 14 x 6.5 inch deep dished Indys when using the 165/55/14 slightly stretched.
185/60/14 can be easily put on 8 inch rims I would go 175 but 165 will be fine in 55s. just compare prices 175 v 165, 165 might be cheaper. eg. https://tyrestretch.com/6.5-165-55-R14 ... 65-55-R14-Dunlop-LM703-3/ https://tyrestretch.com/8.0-185-50-R14 ... 85-50-R14-Dunlop-SP-2000/
