A series would be insane but pushrods and non crossflow has its limits. Instead the E series or even a G series head and bores could be used?

eg. Carbon Steel 8mm plate welded crankcase and separate bore casing for 77mm renault sleeves housing for E16 crank and linkrods with angled cap bolts Steel plate bore housings and wet sleeves from renault 805 sierra or similar. 3.3 litre v8 77mm bores x 88mm stroke.
