Use the 1000 crossmember
There are two "56a" gearboxes: the 56a four-speed and the 56a 5-speed. The 5speed uses a different crossmember. The older 56 4-speed uses the same crossmember as the newer 56a 4-speed
The answer is different if you fit a five-speed 56a
