DATSUN 1200 COUPE CA18DET FOR SALE $15,000 ONO
So the time has finally come to part with my little baby. A bit of back ground information for you all. i bought this car about 6 years ago. it is probably the cleanest stock 1200 i have ever seen. NO RUST. I started the conversion project about 5 years ago and due to travel, work and finances i never had a chance to finish it off. I walk into my garage everyday and see my little 1200 coupe with great potential and a lot of money spent on it, just sitting there collecting dust. if i had the time and motivation i would finish this project off because once it is complete it would have been a great car to drive. unfortunately we need to sell our house and its a bit hard with the car in the garage and spare parts everywhere.
i am looking for a genuine buyer who will finish this car off properly and enjoy owning it.
this car was originally automatic and when i purchased it, it still had plastic on the door trims, log books, and original 56,000miles on the clock. completely stock but it is far from stock at the moment. the paint is original, with original panels. the left hand front guard has had a dent bogged previously. this car has NO RUST. the body is fantastic besides the 1971 paint work which is showing its age.
what i have done - CA18DET engine conversion using maddat crossmembers Stumpy skyline 5 speed manual gearbox on a CA18 bell housing, with new exedy sports clutch Maddat Shortened R31 28 spline. Rebuilt calipers, new wheel bearings, new seals, new U-bolts, new discs, new pads. 180B front struts, hubs and balljoints with R31 brakes adjustable camber and caster tops adjustable caster rods Microtech LT-10s ECU with igniter and hand controller John Taylor (from pedders) custom lowered and strengthened rear leaf springs maddat front sway bar custom large front mount intercooler Just Jap aluminium radiator custom large and strong tailshaft Sparco racing seats new carpet. trims, dash and all interior in excellent condition battery in boot vl turbo fuel pump (needs replacing) with modified fuel tank and new larger steel fuel lines run from front to back new waterpump, seals, timing belt, hoses through out stainless stell exhaust manifold with 3inch dump (needs exhaust system) 16inch concept 5 starcorp rims with new tyres. kenwood cd player with front speakers brake booster boost gauge most parts on this car are brand new as it has only been driven up and down the street 5 times since i put the new engine in
so as you can see, this car has had all the right work done to it and a lot of money spent on it.
what it needs to drive - exhaust system from dump pipe back stronger brackets welded on diff to locate on leaf springs (maddat brackets too weak and bent) fix wiring under dash for ecu and igniter only - i was in the process of rewiring it all and now i have forgotten what needs doing :( fuel pump dyno tune engineers certificate
There is so much more work and money spent on this car but it will take too long to explain it all. come have a look if you want. i am a mechanic and i hate to see this car go as it has taught me a great deal and been a fun and expensive experience. i will not sell it unless i get a descent offer.
