Thanks for all this help my friends.
ddgonzal I followed the link to the LR 135 in the tech wiki. The link to the part at baxters (aus supplier) didn't work, but I manually searched their presumably remodelled website and found the valid link and have updated the wiki accordingly)
The rectifier I ordered in doesn't even match the one in my old alternator, so I can't (at this time) rebuild it even if I wanted to (I will try and chase up if the right rectifier is available for research purposes! now that I have the old one to compare it to (was buying 'blind' because I hadn't had time to dismantle fully)
Based on all this my new plan of attack is sourcing (or getting a friend to - work hours are insane) a new one for a nissan pulsar n10 with e13 motor and fitting and changing wiring to suit.
I seriously owe you guys lunch if you're ever in melbourne (actually on that front D - what part of the universe are you living in now - once long ago you literally lived one suburb across from my place, the last I seem to recall you moved to Japan?)
