As Daniel mentioned, there is some new problem that recently started.
To work around this problem -- before you upload your photo -- rename your picture to end with '.jpg' instead of '.JPG'.
For example, if you have Windows:
1. Find your photo file (go into My Computer or Search (Find Files)
2. Right-click the photo, then click rename
3. Change the .JPG to .jpg
IMPORTANT: If you don't see the file endings, go to the Tool menu, click Folder Options and on the View tab uncheck "Hide file extensions".
Since I started doing this I've had no problems with picture posts.
