OK bit of an updated. The lifters are fine. They do bleed down so the above diatribe isn't worth the worry. The valve is slight longer but should have still sealed. I suspect there is a problem with the seat.
Good guide above to clean the lifters. Leak check with inlet cam out still showed the same problem. Leaking through no. 1 cylinder inlet valves. So unfortunately head has to come off and be fixed. Before I do that I wanted to finish the exhaust. Added the flex pipe and new bracket. Ready to finish the dump pipe tomorrow.
