The rear suspension travel is limited by the bumper bounds not by the shocks. Test it -- you can push down on a back corner and see how much (if any) travel it has
You can get about 1" extra travel but cutting the Bump Stop in half (Bound Bumper A).
If you remove the bound bumpers completely, you can test for how much travel is possible. You might find the wheel touches the body if you go with shorter shocks (with taller tyres) or that the pinion snubber contacts first, limiting the travel yet again
If needed, cut an inch off the snubber and reshape into cone (which helps with compression)
If your sedan shocks are actually bottoming out, measure the ones you have. Stock ones are 339 mm compressed (measured from center of eyering to shoulder of stem -- not to the end of the stem).
Of course the easy way is to fit Coupe shocks, they are stiffer and shorter. The stiffness causes bouncing with stock suspension but may be OK with larger heavier tyres or with stiffer springs
