I'd like to grab the power assist assembly out of a Datsun 210 at a junk yard for my 1200.. I really doubt it'll fit in next to my clutch slave cylinder tho.. Anyone done this?
I just want easier braking.. ;)

You can put power assist gear from a 210 onto a 1200. Thats what alot of people do. All 1200s here have cable clucth anyway so the slave
cylinder isnt there.

From what I've seen, the left hand drive have hydralic clutches, and the right hand drive have cable clutches.. I've got a left hand drive (America..), I haven't actually crawled
under the dash yet to see how it's attached or anything, but maybe I'll be able to move the whole clutch assembly over an inch or so, that would be all I'd need. (BTW.. A 120Y is a 210, as far as I know)..

Does anyone out thear know how hard it would be to install a z18 turbo engine into a 1200 coupe as it look's like it would fit easaly. my car already has skyline 10in disks on it
and 180b drums on the back

Why the Z18? I would go a CA18 for sure. Z18 are still based on the old L series engines. Z18 has 101kw and the CA has 130kw. I know someone with a homepage on how to put a CA18 in
a 1200 but no Z18 1200s. Davo

The z18 engine only needs a fuel only computer to run and is a lot easer to install into a 1200 transmition tunnal. but mostly this being new zealand i do not have to re-register the car
for the new motor, only have it jam it in and start driving. the ca18 on the other hand is a much better engine but it uses 4 coils and a more comples computer it also would require an enginer to check it over ie. $$$$. a big intercooler and a 2.5in pipe of the turbo with one resnerator shoult be faster enoth for street use.

Sounds like a difficult job, but hey, jump on it, take your camera with you and document the whole procedure and put up a detailed website about it.. :) Is that engine going to
bolt directly up to the stock tranny or were you going to get a different one? Should be cool when it's done.. :) Good luck.

no i will use the z18 5 speed as it is stronger that the 1200 box, I have a bad habet of doing burnouts and i have 4 dead 120y 4 speed gearboxes under the house. so the z18 box will
be much beter |
