diff centre for 1600 diff
arthuraldridge

The subaru diff you mention is found here in the
US on the XT models. It is an 3.70:1 R160 by Fuji heavy industries and is the same as the OE diff in the datsun 510 (1600) also made by fuji heavy. This of course is an independant rear end and adaptation to a 1200 would be a nightmare...

Hi all.
There is actually a Subaru LSD centre that will fit straight into a 1600 diff. You may want to pursue that - check out some of the Datsun 1600 web sites for more info. Cheers, Martin.

Hello fellow 1200 lovers. I have a 1200 with a worked A15. Standard box, clutch. The diff is from a 1600 wagon. I want a better ratio and i think the center is on the way out
anyway. Any one know of any solutions for another diff center? Scott (davo)

I will get the work shop manual from my brother, has all the info on the A12A, plus a section on the SU carbs. What I will do is scan it on and email it to you in PDF format. You will
have to wait for January though, going on vacation now. My experience with the SU's are once they seen better days you waste your time and money overhauling them, I replaced it with a Weber 36 DCD and the downdraught intake manifold from a A15 engine.

Hi there all. Nice to have our own club now, and thanks for the invite.
You will see I have 2 sites running, the one at http://members.xoom.com/csnyders/ has been unreliable and slow lately, so I created another at http://members.tripod.com/csnyders/ . This will be the site that will be updated at a regular basis. I'v sold my Coupe (miss it madly!), but will shortly aquire a Nissan 1400 Ute (bakkie). I removed my A15 motor from the Coupe before I sold it, busy prepping it for the coming Ute... Regards all, going on December leave Friday, will be back 11 January Chris S

What a great idea to exchange information on Datsun 1200's. Many thanks for the invite and look forward to providing information and asking any questions. I own a 1200 Ute
or pickup as the Americans call them which is my daily driver. cheers

Thanks for the invite pf...this club is a great idea and I hope that we can all learn a bit more from each other. Datsun 1200's are still very popular here in New Zealand
and still make very competitive Rally/Club cars. I look forward to meeting you all. Regards, Bob. |
