got it to idle by fixing a few air leaks.

went to drive it and at first didnt have any go at all just stalled. started it back up and then seemed ok, blew a bit of smoke(not sure what colour). at the higher RPM range it rattled(believe it was pinging).

i will T in a fuel pressure gague, does anyone know what pressure it should be? does anyone know what jet they or anyone used for this set up?

there is a swishing noise, think its fuel in the bottom of the charger.

no choke and no the butterflys arnt attached at the top of the carby, werent there when i bought it. where should it be idling? i couldnt use a mech feul pump canuse the S/C hitted the pump so i had to take it out and block it off.

well i got it to idle a hell of a lot better, changed the plugs and during removal found that they where carboned up beond cleaning. i replaced them and that mad a massive differance. the only thing is i think it still is a little ruff at ilde cause its cold. i cant get it to idle below what i think is 1500-1800RPM. it starts to surge. then when i switch the motor off(doesnt run on) the pressure of the pump is slowing pushing past or though somewhere.

i will take it for a spin later this week. just putting the S/C tensioner on now.

at idle the gaskett at the base of the carby was soaked in fuel after 5 mins of running. i rebult the carby, did check the float hight cause it came off a running car. its a draw though set up. im running a EFI pump cause of the charger. i was told the pump is good for 5-6 PSI, for memory.

its a easy mod i guess its really my first 1. i had to relocate the ALT to the otherside of the motor, remove the mechanical fuel pump and block off the hole in the block. than use the same bracket as the ALT(mine was on the drivers side) bolts up the same just need a few washers to take up the extra space. later this weekend i will put a few photos up

chasing smaller 32/36 DGV jets
having trouble getting it to idle, believe its running too rich at ilde cause the carby base seal is soaked with fuel.

any jets or advise would be great! cheers!
