#31 Re: Help with A15 identification
Alldat Posted on: 2003/11/17 11:56
Ok from what i can gather your head is a H97 which i believe is off of an A14/A15 does it have the oval ports or double valve springs? Standard bore for an A15 is 76mm so your block is obviously oversize. And bore is 82mm so youve either made incorrect measurement or calculations or you and a different crank giving you a longer stroke. As for the rods or cam i cant help sorry but by going on the rest of the engine i would say that they wouldnt be standard.

#37 Re: Mods needed for Sunny A12

The A14 will almost go straight in you only need to weld an extension onto the mounts as the are slightly further foward or back (i can nver remember which) than those on the A12. Very simple process and not much more than upgading your exhaust or carbie/s.

Well i would like to say that i enjoyed seeing some fine machines at the datnats even though majority were 1600s. I was able to meet a couple of the guys from the site (1200ralleycar, Muke, Trickdat and Dems) pity more of you couldnt make it. Next year we will try and turn the tables. So that gives youse 1yr to finish your project cars and show the 1600 boys whos boss.

Starting point = Cash
I would suggest you look at your budget first and set a realistic goal. Sure you could do the flashest mods available but it depends on when you want the car on the road. 1yr or 10yrs. Then think of the legalities of the mods for your state (what is and isnt allowed). For example im starting off small with a worked A14 but in time i want to insert a VG30 non turbo.
