A front end clip is normally a front end cut - a complete section of a wrecked car from the A pillar foward - obviously with a front wheel drive this gives you all the drivetrain. I suspect what the strut/brake swap post meant was the complete front suspension.

Thanks for the 210 strut info. I have one question, what is the front end clip?

Check your fuel line for dirt or rust particles. If you have a small restriction in the line, the petrol flow can cause the particles to accumulate at that spot and partially block the flow. It has happened to someone I know (although not a Datsun). The restriction was where the line goes over the rear axle. The rust would build up near the top of the hump and the car would die. Soon after the car stopped, the rust would run back down inside the pipe, freeing the blockage and allowing the car to be restarted again, only for the problem to repeat. Barry

I might have missed the post but I'm still wondering about that electric 1200. Is it battery powered or a hybrid? How did you do at the drag races in Vegas? Looking forward to reading more about your wild ride. Tim

After reading sunnyb210's post I went back and reread mine. I meant to say 210 (which would be a B-310) instead of B-210. I have done the 210 swap as well as the 510 and have to say that the 210 is much easier. As for bigger brakes for the 210 (B-310), I would like to know of some also.

In order to put A10 (510 in US) strut into your Datsun 1200, you need to get B310 (210 in US) lower arms, tension rod, stabilizer bar, and lower ball joint and knuckle arm. If you can find a decent Datsun 210 in a junkyard, try to get an entire front end clip

Ok everyone, i'm going to try my share on the turbo stuff, a mate of mine build the following turbo of a a15 Use a a14 crank in a a15 block,to lower some of the compresion, use nissan exa pistons, i think there is 2 type's, use the one with the hole near the oil rings, not the groove(still looking into this for the exact info), took some 2 mm of the top of piston otherwise it will hit the head, 45 Delorto IDF downdraft carb, a nice t2.5 and you can boost up to 30 psi, any comments ? don't forget you high feul pressure pump

If you want Commodore sized disks have a look at the Vanette set up. The disks are the same size as a Commodore as are the calipers. Don't know how the caliper will space up to the strut but it would be worth a try. A mate of mine was going to look at this but I don't think he has yet.

Its what you think of the colour that counts but can't say I've ever seen a small black car that stood out. No offence to Davo but I don't like black all that much. I have a MG Midget that I have been also working on for the last couple of years. I jjust recently had it painted in the VT Commodore Brittanica Mica (metalic green) and it looks great. The hand spray job on a car with some chrome I think looks better than the effect on the Commodore. Its basically a modern variation on Brittish Racing Green. If you look at it in the shade or from a certain angle it just looks like dark green but set the light on it and the metalic comes out with a gold tinge. We sat a door on the ground after it was done and the color changes completely when you move 180 degrees around in the sun.
