yes I should have....

However... I should be soon well versed on B310's (Sunnys) as well as B210's (120Y's here in australia the uk and europe)

As I have just been given a A14/F4w60L Sunny!

after month and months of searching for an A14/A15 and being told "they are too old/No we don't have any" - !!JACKPOT!!

actually I have heard that the ENTIRE undercarriage of a Stanza fits under a Sunny... engine, gearbox, crossmember, tailshaft, diff but the only problem is that a L20B won't fit as it is too high/tall....

L14s (if you can find one...)-L18s fit fine...

this is 2nd hand info.... I have always wanted to do a L18 into a (B210) 120Y so I never got all the info.... However I have my eye on a pair of Sunny's for the same reason as you...

sounds like the 570Y project is alive and well!

the only good thing about going rotary is the fact it'd still handle... unless you have an extra $9000 for an aluminium world products "Motown" engine block...

I have my eye on another (possibly my 5th) 120Y sedan... plans are stock L18/Four speed/ 120Y BW68 diff...

I also have my eye on a 1200 ute shell... unsure about it as it's front valance is sitting on the ground... but it has all the bolt-on panels on it, a front bumper, and all the glass...

judging by the engine bay pic I'd say it's has a 63A gearbox in it.... as it looks like it has a hydraulic clutch...

and the 63A is the only A series gearbox that has a hydraulic clutch... 56a, 60A, and 60L 4& 5 speed are all cable...

... unless your 1200/120Y/Sunny is LHD!

I have FOUR 120Y sedans...

despite this being DATSUN1200.com... the only 1200 I want is a coupe or a ute... I doubt I'd fit in a ute... as for B10/B20's (1000's) boring.... not to mention looking a litte like clown cars... (small size)

Simple - it's the car max drives before he drives the interceptor!

the thing is I think XA-XC coupes look better WITHOUT the "mad max" crap...

but then again XA-XC coupes don't rust... ...They dissolve!!

EDIT... the front of that car is what the "Interceptor" looks like before the ####ty nosecone got put on there...

and NO I don't like what they did to it... but hey... its a FORD!...

Hey Dattogirl learning to drive a manual is easy!

I sorta learnt how to drive a manual (XD ute with 3 on the tree... that had/has I still have it but it doesn't go (it's in the needing stage - it needs a rebuild ) a bent steering column - the gears were all over the place!

but because of the bent column I never got to learn how to downshift....

I then got "The Defect" a March '77 120Y 4 door sedan that was an auto... about 4-6 months ago it got a manual conversion and I have NEVER looked back!

105Hp stock as far as I understood...but I have a feeling that might be for the 180B SSS engine...

the plan is to thrash it - but not too hard - as it is my personal transport... I DO have a spare H150 centre... but it is an auto ratio...

However the Previous owner wasn't a Datsun Lover and Ruthlessly thrashed it... that is why I want to ditch the H150 that is in "The Iron Maiden" the PO has killed about 10- 15 302/351 Clevelands...

I had a 1981 XD ford falcon ute with a 170Hp XA (1972) 250 2V in it - 120 Km/h violent fishtails (on gravel) with Dad at the wheel... it still would run (if I could be bothered to put the 350 Holley back on itand put a battery in it!...
but it smokes like a locomotive...

but a hole in the radiator killed the fun!...

After my Sister's wedding (21st Jan 2006) I am contemplating buying a 180B (610) and transferring the engine, gearbox, engine crossmember, steering linkage ??steering box??, Lower control arms, and struts over to my July '75 120Y sedan known as "The Iron Maiden"... I intend to swap over the BW 68 diff (W/leaf springs -from my March '77 120Y sedan aka "The Defect" as the jap 120Y sedan leaves are softer than a pensioners turd!... and the H150 will make a distinct "BANG" sound if coupled up to an L18!

I am getting a little exited about the whole idea... but what are they like to drive? I intend for the L18 to be Stock As A Rock

what is the power to weight ratio like? V8 like?, V8 killer? or considerably faster than a A12-A15 powered car but not F1 like??

Hi guys, My July '75 120Y sedan "The Iron Maiden" has "developed" - come to think about it, It might have had it before I got it going but was drowned out by the total lack of a muffler...

anyway it has developed a "tick tick tick" sound that starts at about 40 Km/h

it has me baffled - however the Previous owner Thrashed the crap out of it, so I'm suspecting a mains or Bigend bearing...

- that's the last thing I want or need -

However - before it was parked "The Defect" engine still ran, But it sounded like a V8 at idle...

tappets I suspect...

however, as soon as Harvest and My sister's wedding is in the "done" basket, I will start looking for the elusive 180B!

then "The Iron Maiden" will be like the Band - Hard, Fast and takes NO prisoners!
