Phunk it's not my daily driver as I don't have a licence...

plan is to get a new carby for "The Defect" and have 2 120Y's... have to put on some mudguards - the only bolt-on panel left in place forward of the firewall is the bonnet...

the object on the bonnet of "The Defect" is a camera bag...

no flares as it currently wears "12 rims and tyres...

the July '75 120Y ("The Iron Maiden")goes well - much Better than "The Defect" and stops and goes better over bumps as the shockies and brakes work better!

the "Sleeping Beauty" name is dead... she's now "THE IRON MAIDEN"!

the only bolt-on panels left from when these pics were taken, are the bonnet, scuttle panel and the bootlid - and I intend to replace the scuttle panel and the bootlid... and then paint Her a nice colour...

the duals are gone but in the winter they may return... don't know about the rear mudflap(s) though!

120Y manual Tranny tunnel VS Auto tunnel?...

I know that 1200's have definite Auto and manual tunnels, but do 120Y's have the same? When dad and I did the Manual conversion on "The Defect", I thought they were similar sized, but I did notice the (factory) manual tranny car has different tranny mounts to the (factory) auto...

the reason I ask is that I am thinking of doing the 180B crossmember/L18 engine conversion... and I don't want to have to swap tranny tunnels... otherwise a certain $770 A15 may find it's way into the engine bay of "Sleeping Beauty"...

I have a 1977 120Y (B210) sedan... it leans to the drivers side (the right, as it's RHD) considerably - I'm guessing a broken/worn leaf spring...

but my new project car - '75 120Y sedan doesn't lean...

guess I'll find the cause when I pull the diff out of the '77 to put in the '75 (the '77 is an australian made late model )

if it is a pre july '76 120Y it should have a H150 (think "Mini Me" Ford 9")
if it is a july '76 it should have a Borg Warner 68 diff .

the front suspension on a '74 120Y is identical to the Datsun 1200 where the front suspension on the aussie made sedans are a bit stronger...

I do know where there are 120Y panels but they are NOT for sale... they are for my current 120Y project... July '75 sedan...

I have rang up wreckers but had one bite - $770! considering the car I want to put it in was free... it's a little too much... LOL!

I know that there is info already here about it... but I was hoping Team_dat might be able to shed more light on the subject... maybe write something in the Tech Section about it?...

I know that the '75 120Y H150 will be going... I have a spare BW 120Y diff...

what else do I need to know?...

I have access to a hoist, so I was going to put the L18 and 4 speed in the same way the A12/ 4 speed were put in

what is the power to weight ratio like?
